DH3 Shigfest

DH3 #1433 – Fall Shigfest at Germantown Metropark
Saturday November 14th at 2:00 pm (NOTE EARLY START TIME to avoid darkness that comes swiftly in the woods!!!)
Hares: Herpie the Love Bug and Dah Gimp

Hash Trail: This is the typical Shigfest that you can expect from Herpie and Gimp. No pavement and lots of steep hills. Trail is A to B. Less than 3.5 miles but it will seem longer due to the many hills. Some of these hills are very steep and require some agility to transverse. You will be following Gimp if this tells you anything…”Hehehehehe”. At the B-location we’ll shuttle hashers back to the cars. Bring your facemask on trail for the car ride back. There is no walkers trail but maps will be provided. Walkers are highly encouraged to only do part of the trail and walk back to the cars. Car shuttles cannot wait too long at the B-location, since everyone needs to be back for circle and before dark. Since it is a Five Rivers Metro Park it is heavenly patrolled by park rangers, be discrete with alcohol!
Dogs: Allowed in Germantown Metropark, but a leash is required. Since trail is mostly in the woods it won’t be easy to keep the leash untangled. No dogs are allowed inside the On-After location.
Kids: Always allowed on Herpie and Gimp trails. Due to the nature of the terrain, young kids will not have the arm strength and agility to traverse the steep hills on the running trail. However, young kids can easily walk the park trails using the walkers map. Kids are allowed at the On-After.
Shig Level: 100% shig. Woods are fairly open. Shorts are optional, but you will get scratched up a little bit if you are running.
Circle: We’ll discretely circle near the cars.
On-After: Florentine Restaurant in downtown Germantown, 21 W Market St, Germantown, OH 45327. Old historic Inn that they converted into a restaurant and bar. They have nice selection of both craft and slut beer. You are on your own for beer!
Things to bring/wear:
+ $4 hash cash and optional $ for On-After food or craft beer.
+ Dry clothes and shoes. You will probably be woodsy
+ Whistle you never blow except in circle
+ Your bent and broken centurion coffee mug, dead tree mug, or your cheap dependable plastic mug. Don’t bother to bring your vessel on trail. There will be plastic cups at all the various beer locations. Believe us…you’ll need the use of both hands!
+ Heart attack medications
+ Virgins!
