If you're only going to do one event this year, it should be this one (or RDR in September). In todays current economic climate where the dollar doesn't stretch as far as it should, your $8 Hash Cash will get you much joy today, oh boy!
First, note the earlier start time. This is so you have plenty of time to complete the trail Shaving and Elephant have planned for you. Of course if you choose to stay at Shavings, that's fine too. Once we get back from trail we'll do circle and there will be a grill going along with a fridge full of beer. Once all of that is done, we'll start a fire (not Shavings house) and solve all of the hash problems (or at least discuss some items unique to our kennel, don't worry, no one is going to get roped into a MisMan role, unless you volunteer yourself).
In short, you can come anytime and get credit for trail as long as you arrive and pay Hash Cash prior to Circle closing. If you show up after that, great, enjoy some food and help us hash (pun intended) some things out, but no trail credit. You can pitch a tent in the grass or claim crash space somewhere in the house. The kennel has had a lot going on the last few years and I want to make sure we're on the right track and that takes input from all of you. It's your kennel, not my kennel.
What you need to bring is $8 Hash Cash, Hash Attire, a Virgin, friends, backsliders, a chair, a toothbrush (you aren't using mine), whistle, chalk, sides for the cookout (I'll take care of meat, buns and condiments), a tent, change of clothes (if you're staying the night and maybe just to get into something after trail). If you know someone that'd like to man the grill, that'd be great, not sure I'm going to want to when we're all done. Trail will be a mix of shig and streets, but expect a fair amount of shig and possibly a water crossing.
Optional items are kids and spouses (we have some wine and a playground across the street).
